Portrayed as Father Christmas, a giver of gifts to children. On his feast day of December 6, St. Nicholas would leave his horse and wagon on the roof top and go down the chimney to leave gifts for the children of the house.
Now Saint Nicholas was pictured as a bringer of gifts on Christmas. His Bishop’s Miter became flopped over to be a stocking hat. His Bishop’s Crosier became a walking stick and the sacks of grain St. Nicholas used to help the poor Christian farmers now became a sack full of gifts and toys.
The sixth figure in The Legend of Saint Nicholas Limited Edition Collector Series depicts Saint Nicholas as Father Christmas.
