What's The Bible All About

By Father Michael

Fr. Michael

Did you ever promise yourself that you were going to read the bible some day? Did you ever begin and then just get board or not even know where to begin? Do you ever wonder just what is covered in all those books of the bible and what's the difference between a Catholic and Protestant bible? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, this course is for you.

You will get a broad overview of the bible. You will learn a little bit about every book in the bible, what it's about, what is it teaching, when was it written and why. What was going on in the history of the world when this book was written.

You will learn about literary forms, parables, myth stories, poetry, historical books and prophets, gospels, letters, and apocalyptic writing.

Experience Transformation and Peace

Two 45 minute presentations - Wednesdays March 12 & 19

By Father Dan Peters

Did you ever have to wait for the results of an important test - Do you have cancer? Did you pass the school exam? Did you get the job?

When we're faced with the waiting, we just want it to be over. The waiting is the hardest part. We want to fight it or run from it.

Fr. Dan talks about this time of waiting. The mystic, John of the Cross, calls the uncertainty of waiting "The Dark Night of the Soul". Through his teachings you will learn to experience peace during your transition times

Through Fr. Dan's presentations you will learn how to surrender to God and let God do His work of preparation during your dark nights. God will work it out with you if you are open to His love and what that love will bring to your understanding of yourself.

Fr. Dan will give you the tools to stay in the darkness for a time and be at peace.
